on bourdain and ripert’s visit to bloomington
they were incredibly insightful and eloquent to a certain extent.
they roasted each other to the ground. they spoke about their views of the future of the culinary world: sustainability, organic foods and the obesity crisis.
ripert’s french accent is adorable and bourdain is, as expected, ridiculously crass and i loved that.
i enjoyed that they mentioned going into the industry and how outrageously vigorous and unrewarding it can be and you can either do that—or be normal.
and most importantly, me and bourdain have the same love for the film ‘ratatouille’.
thank you for coming! i really wish i could have met you both. i was too shy to ask any questions. but i’ll take these autographed books and be on my way.
